Lecture 2 Schedule:

12:30 – 1:00 p.m. — The Fantasy and Reality of Bionics (Prosthetic Limbs) In Anime, Manga, and Games

This panel delves into the specifics behind the physical mechanics of prosthetics and the psychological aspects surrounding the loss of limbs. I will be analyzing and ranking multiple anime, manga, and games, comparing them to how accurate they are to real life.

1:00 – 2:30 p.m. — JoJo’s Bizarre Stand-Offs

Test your fan-knowledge of the bizarre world of JoJo to the test in a series of mind-stimulating hypothetical 1v1 battles between the psychic punchy costs we call Stands. Each side will be represented by a volunteer or two to decide which Stand would come out on top, and the audience will judge whose argument is the most convincing. Expect some minor spoilers on the abilities of certain Stands, because we’re featuring certain shocking ones from parts 3 to 6!

2:30 – 3:30 p.m. — Anime or Politician?

Did it come from the mouth of an anime character, or the mouth of a politician? The answer may surprise you! Find out in this lighthearted trivia game where we see how the absurdity of Japanese animation compares to the absurdity of our leaders

3:30 – 5:00 p.m. — 2024: Anime OP/ED in Review

Hi, it is your local anisong connoisseur speaking. Do you find yourself bopping to the Dandadan opening or make other people uncomfortable by playing Nokotan’s opening on loop? Well, then this is the perfect panel for you!

I heard all OPs/EDs of 2024 to give you some of the best and also worst songs 2024 anime has to offer! All sense of familliarity is welcomed!

5:00 – 6:00 p.m. — Karaoke

Think you’ve got what it takes to be the top idol? Come sing to your heart’s content!

Two microphones and speakers will be provided. There will be a form (on-site) where you can put your name and song link (Spotify or Youtube Music). You will have to provide your own lyrics. This is an experiment for this year, and based on reception, we might do it for much longer for years to come. Please be mindful of others, and take turns.

6:00 – 7:00 p.m. — Bad Animes: The Necessary Evil (18+)

Do you ever feel tired of watching anime? Like sometimes, it feels like anime does not bring the same joy to you as it used to be? Well it might be because you don’t watch bad anime. Yes! Bad and Mediocre Animes!

We will delve deep on why bad animes might reinvigorate your love to animes and you may find some good recommendations. Come by and I will present some of my favourites. You can also talk with others about some bad animes that you think is peak.
